Officer Challenges

Please click on the appropriate link to apply for each Officer Challenge. All challenges are due by January 15, unless otherwise stated.

State Merit Scholar

Our Member Challenge will be the Merit Scholar Test at the State Level. Members will have the opportunity to take the Merit Scholar Test at the State Level. The member with the highest score and fastest time will receive a plaque. Members that reach a certain level will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony.

Honorary Member

Do you know a community member or staff member who has supported your local BPA Chapter? Make sure to nominate them for Honorary Member! Applications will be due in January and the winner will be announced at SLC.

Advisors, do you have a BPA Member that goes above and beyond for your chapter? Nominate them for NMBPA Member of the Year to be recognized at SLC!

Torch Award Challenges

Remember that the member that earns the most Torch Award points by state will be recognized on stage. Also, each member who earns the most points in each category will be honored! Get those Torch Awards turned in!

  • Statesmen Ambassador of the Year-Member with the highest overall Torch Points at State.
  • Torch Category Top Winners - Winners will be determined from Torch Award Applications submitted to National BPA by February 1

Chapter Chant Challenge

Our Chapter Challenge challenges chapters to create their own BPA theme chapter chant to help bring a wave of spirit to the State Leadership Conference. Chapters will record their chants and submit them prior to State. During the Opening Session/Business Meeting, the chapter chants will be played. The members will then have the opportunity to vote on the best chant during the Officer Elections. The chant with the most votes will go home with the NMBPA Spirit Stick!
