Chapter Challenge-Scrapbook Challenge
Every chapter has a story worth telling—and now it’s time to bring yours to the spotlight! The New Mexico BPA Chapter Scrapbook Challenge invites chapters from across the state to showcase their year-long journey through creativity, collaboration, and storytelling. From leadership moments and competitive successes to service projects, member experiences, and community impact, this challenge gives chapters the opportunity to highlight the incredible work happening behind the scenes.
Designed around the 2026-2027 theme “Leadership in the Spotlight,” chapters will create a physical scrapbook that captures the moments, memories, and milestones that make their BPA experience unique. Like a Hollywood production celebrating an award-winning performance, each scrapbook will serve as a chapter’s highlight reel—showcasing the dedication, teamwork, and passion that make New Mexico BPA chapters shine.
Scrapbooks will be featured at the 2027 New Mexico BPA State Leadership Conference, where chapters will have the opportunity to roll out the red carpet and celebrate their accomplishments with members from across the state. Get ready to capture your chapter’s greatest moments, share your story, and show why your chapter deserves to take center stage!
State Merit Scholar
Our officers continue to support the New Mexico Merit Scholar Test at the State Level. Members will have the opportunity to take the Merit Scholar Test at the State Level.
The member with the highest score and fastest time will receive a plaque.
Members that score a minimum score will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony.
The Merit Scholar test is given during Open Testing Events for the State Leadership Conference.
Honorary Member
Do you know a community member or staff member who has supported your local BPA Chapter? Make sure to nominate them for Honorary Member!
Each chapter can nominate ONE Honorary Member each year!
Applications are due January 15 and the winner will be announced at SLC.
Member of the Year
Advisors, do you have a BPA Member that goes above and beyond for your chapter?
Nominate them for NMBPA Member of the Year to be recognized at SLC!
Requirements:
- Completed a minimum of one full year as an active member of your chapter.
- Served as a local or state officer
- Attended a minimum of one SLC and one NLC
- Competed at the state or international level
- Earned the Statesman Torch Award (current or previous years)

- Chapter Advisor Letter of Recommendation
- BPA Centered Personal Resume
- Headshot in Professional Attire
Each chapter can nominate ONE Member of the Year each year!

OUTSTANDING ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR
We are proud to introduce the Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award, a new recognition honoring school administrators who go above and beyond in supporting their local BPA chapter and Career and Technical Education.
Strong administrators play a vital role in the success of BPA by championing student leadership, encouraging chapter growth, and fostering opportunities that help members develop college, career, and life skills. This award celebrates those exceptional leaders whose commitment and advocacy have made a lasting impact on their students, advisors, and school community.
Excellence is the standard for every educational administrator, and recognizing those who exemplify that standard helps inspire others to continue supporting student success through BPA.

Torch Award Challenges
Remember that the member that earns the most Torch Award points by state will be recognized on stage. Deadline to apply for the Statesman Award at State is February 1.
